Person Pinned Under Train At DC Metro Station (Developing)

Officials confirmed that there was a person under a train outside a Metro station in Northeast DC.

An alert was issued at approximately 11 a.m. on Wednesday morning regarding a person who was under a train at the Rhode Island Avenue Station.

According to Metro Transit Police, the preliminary investigation determined that a woman intentionally placed herself in the path of the train before she was struck.

Rescue efforts are underway.
